In Tatarstan, September 6 detained one of the leaders of the financial pyramid Finiko Ilgiz Shakirov, which received the status of the vice-president of the company. This is reported by TASS with reference to the source. According to him, Shakirov attracted money about one hundred thousand depositors.
Kazan company Finiko began to attract the funds of citizens in 2018, promising a monthly yield of 20-30 percent. FINIKO passed the money of customers under the management of “teams of professionals”, which invested them in cryptocurrencies, oil and conducted other operations in the stock market. In June 2021, the Central Bank of Russia recognized the activities of the Finiko financial pyramid, and in July, the company stopped paying money to depositors. According to the prosecutor’s office, the company received at least 80 million rubles from customers. Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified the amount of damage – a month after the beginning of the investigation, it rose to 250 million rubles.
At the end of July, Kazan was detained and arrested by one of the founders of the financial pyramid of Cyril Doronin. A criminal case against the organization of activities to attract funds in particularly large amount (part 2 of Article 172.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was initiated against him. Doronin threatens imprisonment for up to six years. In mid-August, the police announced another three founders of the company – Marat and Edward Sabirovich and Zygmunt Zygmuntovich.
Lawyers strongly recommend Russians to avoid investment in financial pyramids. To recognize such companies, you need to pay attention to several things. For example, a potential victim is usually asking for a certain amount of money to obtain a high percentage of profits and attract new participants.
