Researchers from Norway found that the physical activity of mothers has a positive effect on the function of the lungs in their children. Scientists presented their conclusions at the Congress of the European Respiratory Society.
Researchers from the University of Oslo analyzed the data on the health of 814 children born from a resident of the Norwegian capital and Stockholm. Scientists asked for women for 18-34 weeks of pregnancy Fill out questionnaires about their health and lifestyle. Based on the answers on how often they trained, women were divided into very active, moderately active and inactive. Then three-month children were evaluated by the function of the lungs – measuring the speed and volume of inhaled and exhaled air.
out of 47 children who have identified the smallest function of the lungs, 25 mothers were a little physical activity. The averaged function of the lungs in children of active mothers was also higher. Early studies have shown that children with low lung function by ten years are more likely to develop asthma. At the same time, researchers plan to monitor measurements in the dynamics of lung function in children with age and its impact on the development of respiratory diseases.
