Gazprom wanted to reduce tax raised by metallurgists

The government wanted to reduce for some Gazprom and Gazprom Oil deposits (NPPI), writes Kommersant. The increase in the same tax for the enterprises of the metallurgical industry is considered as one of the main options for exemptions with their extension from the successful market opportuncture in favor of the state.

We are talking about the fields of Nadym-Pur-pellets in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the license for the development of which is owned by Gazprom and Gazprom Neft. In July, the Governor of the region Dmitry Artyukhov asked the profile deputy prime minister Alexander Novak to prepare and implement measures to support companies developing deposits for their more complete and fast development.

The most likely option, according to the publication, the decrease in the NDPI for deposits. Currently, the tax rate for Gazprom on them is higher than that of competitors in other similar fields, primarily “Novatek”. Such a situation is justified by the monopoly law of Gazprom on the export of pipeline gas and the ownership of the internal gas supply system.

In parallel, the Government is being studied by tax maneuver in another industry – metallurgical. The authorities are going to establish its representatives to additional tax, because they consider them unfairly won from successful market opportuncture. In May, the first deputy prime minister Andrei Belousov said that the metallurgists “fatsed” the state for 100 billion rubles.

One of the priority options is considered to increase NPPI for metallurgical companies. At the same time, representatives of the industry asking the government to increase income tax instead.
