Poland does not intend to extend the contract with Gazprom for gas supplies from Russia. Such a statement was made by the representative of the Government of Poland on the strategic energy infrastructure of Peter Naimsky, his words leads the Agency “Prime”.
According to the official, instead of Russian gas will now be used by Norwegian, which will enter the country on the Baltic Pipe pipeline through Denmark. The start of delivery is expected from October 1, 2022, when the contract is completed with Gazprom.
The cost of Baltic Pipe is about 1.7 billion euros, more than half will pay the Polish Gaz-System gas statement. With the help of a gas pipeline and procurement of liquefied natural gas (LNG), Poland is going not only to abandon the supply contract from Russia, but also to become a fuel exporter. In July, it was reported that about 100 kilometers were laid from 295.
Failure to extend the contract for the supply of Russian gas Polish authorities explained by the fact that the country carries losses due to too high prices. Warsaw is going to provide himself with gas due to the purchase of liquefied natural gas batches (LNG), as well as supplies from Norway.
