Auukus Military Partnership, concluded between the United Kingdom, Australia and the United States, is not aimed against any country. This was announced by Prime Minister British Boris Johnson, reports The Guardian.
The British Prime Minister said that the partnership “will strengthen the position of Great Britain as a scientific and technical superpower.” It also, according to Johnson, will create hundreds of highly skilled jobs in the country. The head of the British government stressed that the Agreement with Canberra and Washington is not concluded for countering China.
Also, Johnson assured that Auukus does not contradict the principles of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Components and technologies for the creation of shells or carriers will not be transmitted to Australia, which now officially does not have its nuclear arsenal.
Premier Australia Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that the country will allocate about $ 8.47 billion on projects within the framework of Auukus from its budget. Money will be spent on the construction of new and repair already existing atomic submarines, as well as to create a dock of a full cycle in Osborne.
In the framework of the Alliance, decorated September 16, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States intend to contribute to the exchange of technologies. The partnership is designed to unite the efforts of three countries in the field of defense and security, as well as to help protect their interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
