Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated the US Demars because of Washington interference in the Russian elections to the State Duma. This was stated by Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Printing Foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation Oleg Gavrilov, reports TASS.
Diplomat recalled that on September 10, the American Ambassador John Sullivan was called for a statement about the categorical inadmissibility of interference in the internal affairs of Russia. According to him, Demarche was duplicated to the State Department and the Council of National Security on the Russian Embassy in Washington.
“We are talking about concrete facts transmitted to the American side for studying and reaction, in contrast to the incessant years of the flow, no reinforced claims due to the ocean in the address of Russia with unlimited accusations in the mythical intervention in American democracy,” concluded Gavrilov. He noted that the Russian side is convinced of the veracity of information about the involvement of a number of US IT companies to discredit the upcoming elections to the State Duma.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov indicated that the US intervention in elections to the Russian State Duma could be proved using a number of facts: for example, publications of prohibited content. The official representative of the department Maria Zakharov said that a number of US officials were caught in relations with the organizers of the project “Smart Voting”.
