Consumers from Taiwan intend to force Apple again to sell smartphones with a charging adapter. This is reported by the Edition Appleinsider.
In the message on the site of the local consumer fund, it is said that buyers are disappointed that the charging adapter and headphones disappeared from the box with the iPhone. Representatives of the initiative group noted that the concern for ecology is important, but the manufacturer of smartphones should not infringe the consumers in rights. The community lawyers demanded that the local regulator investigate this incident and threatened Apple to go to court.
“If the phone manufacturer releases the device, but does not include a charger or charging cable, of course, consumers will not be able to enable and use the phone in normal mode,” the message says.
Secretary General of the local consumer fund Xu Tse-Yu (HSU Tse-Yu) stated that the sale of the iPhone without an adapter is equivalent to the hidden growth of prices, since the consumer has to acquire the charger separately. Representatives of the organization do not consider wired headphones, which also disappeared from the iPhone set, an important accessory. However, in their opinion, Apple must somehow compensate for their absence – for example, to reduce the cost of the smartphone.
Apple has ceased to complete their telephones charging adapter and wired headphones with iPhone 12 in October 2020. The company explained this step with concern for ecology. Spring Consumer Protection Office Brazilian São Paulo fined Apple for 10.5 million reals for the sale of iPhone without accessories.
