Way to eat right at work and schools

British scientists called a way to reduce the level of obesity of the population. According to them, in order to properly eat, it is necessary to reduce the calories and the size of the portions of food at work, in schools and universities. Research results Magazine PLOS Medicine.

Researchers found out that about 15 percent calories per day, a person receives, dining at work. Based on this, in the 19 table networks of British supermarkets, a diet was changed for 25 weeks. Food with a high calorie content was replaced by less calorie, in addition, portions were reduced. This led to a decrease in calories produced by 11.5 percent in comparison with the initial consumption – 50 kilocalories per day.

Previously, researchers from Great Britain and Italy were able to reconstruct diet 17 of the ancient Romans who died in the city of Herculaneum during the eruption of Vesuvius volcano in 79 of our era. It turned out that the basis of the diet of the inhabitants of the coastal city was seafood and fish, which significantly distinguishes it from modern Mediterranean food, where animal products are dominated. At the same time, the share of grain consumption remained about the same.
