Moscow is concerned about the possibility of penetrating terrorists and extremists from Afghanistan to neighboring countries against the background of the current migration situation. This was announced at the briefing the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharov, the correspondent “Lental.ru” reports.
Diplomat noted that members of terrorist organizations can move to Central Asian countries under the cover of humanitarian slogans and appeals to help refugees. She noted that the Russian side was guided by international obligations and norms to promote Afghan refugees.
“We believe that the international community and, first of all, the traditional Western donors of Afghanistan must be responsible for the results of its twentieth presence in the country,” said Zakharov. According to her, it is the Western countries that should assist the Afghan population and reduce migration flows from the republic.
Earlier, the official representative of the Foreign Ministry said that the responsibility for the situation in Afghanistan is primarily carried by the United States and the countries of the International Coalition. She called on the West and the United States to take over the main share of the country’s restoration costs.
