Representatives of the metallurgical industry, previously accused of the First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov, in the “fattening” of the state for 100 billion rubles, asked him to increase the tax on income instead of the extraction tax (NPPI), the increase in which is considered by the government, writes RBC.
at a meeting with the participation of Belousov and the Minister of Finance Anton Siluanova Representatives of metallurgy together with the owners of fertilizer manufacturers indicated that the increase in NPPI will not allow their companies to invest in complex maintenance projects.
“Let the one who has earned more is paying,” said one of the participants in the meeting, pointing to a greater feasibility of increasing income tax. With this approach, free cash flow of companies will decrease (part of the profit remaining after capital investments), but this will not affect their ability to invest.
Until now, the increase in NPPI was considered as a priority embodiment of exemptions earned by metallurgists due to successful market conditions. It has developed at the expense of rapid prices in the world market.
This option was voiced by President Vladimir Putin. According to him, the increase in NPPI could occur since the beginning of 2022. This measure was to replace the export duty on some types of metals introduced from the beginning of August to the end of 2021.
In May, Belousov stated that the metallurgists were “fallen” the state for 100 billion rubles, not paid to the budget. He also announced measures to withdraw these funds in favor of the state.
