On Baikonur prepare a cosmic head under piloted start

On the Baikonur cosmodrome, the active preparation of the cosmic head is continuing under the forthcoming piloted launch in October. Today, September 15, 2021, electric checks of the measurement system on the head fairing and the transitional compartment of the transport piloted ship “Union MS-19” began.

These works are carried out by specialists of the South Space Center (branch of the center of exploitation of land-based space infrastructure sites) and the Rocket and Space Corporation “Energy” named after S.P. Queen (included in the state corporation “Roskosmos”) at the site number 254. Checks on the head fairing and the transition compartment in accordance with the work schedule will last three days.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1A carrier missile with a piloted ship “Union MS-19” is scheduled for October 5, 2021 from the Baikonur cosmodrome. The main crew included the astronaut Roscosmos Anton Sabelers, as well as participants in the space flight – Actress Julia Peresilde and Director Klim Shipenko, their Dubers – Oleg Artemyev, Alyona Mordovin and Alexey Dudin, respectively.
