Belorussian leader Alexander Lukashenko met with President Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon in Dushanbe on the eve of the summits on the organization of the Collective Security Treaty (CSTO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). It is reported by BelTA.
Leaders discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation and the SCO and CSTO summits Agenda. Particular attention to the parties paid the military-political situation in the region amissing the situation in Afghanistan and agreed to coordinate security efforts on the borders of the CSTO member countries.
On September 15, a meeting of the Council of Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense and Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTOs was held in Dushanbe, at which security issues were discussed in connection with the situation in Afghanistan.
Earlier it became known that Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the CSTO Summit and SCO in Dushanbe online due to self-insulation care due to the identified cases of COVID-19 in his environment.
