US Ministry of Justice demanded to suspend action of Texas Abortion Law

The US Ministry of Justice demanded that the federal judge temporarily suspend the effect of Texas law prohibiting women to make abortions on the period of six weeks. It is reported by CNN TV channel.

“Such a measure is necessary to protect the constitutional rights of women in Texas and to protect the sovereign interests of the United States, which are to comply with the provisions of the State Device,” said the ministry’s statement opposing the mentioned initiative. The agency stressed that the law was contrary to the ten-year-old practice of judicial precedents, according to which abortions must be resolved before the breeding of the fetus.

On September 9, it was reported that the US President Joe Bayiden intends to submit to the state of Texas due to the indicated law. The head of the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor General of the United States Merrick Garland stressed that the Office intends to protect the residents of Texas who want to do an abortion.

On September 1, the law prohibiting women to make an abortion came into force in Texas if the fetal had a heartbeat. The procedure is allowed to be carried out only if the conception occurred as a result of incest or rape or if there is an “emergency medical nature”. At the same time, human rights groups note that in fact the law introduces the prohibition of abortions in general, since 85-90 percent of women usually make abortion on the period of six weeks of pregnancy.
