Vladimir Chizhov’s permanent representative of Russia at the European Union called European countries to learn from universal large-scale elections from Russia. So he commented on the last resolution of the European Parliament in Russia. His words leads TASS.
He noted the changes that the Russian Central Election Commission has achieved in recent years in terms of election transparency, the use of technical means when voting and monitoring elections. At the same time, he stressed that in the European Union, such technologies are not used.
“If you see how elections in the European Parliament itself are held, it is, to put it mildly, a strange and rather sad picture. However, they are organized in each country individually, there is no pan-European element committee,” Chizhov said.
On September 19 throughout Russia, the last day of the election started throughout Russia: the first at 8:00 am local time (at 23:00 on September 18 in Moscow) was opened with polling stations on Chukotka and Kamchatka. Russians will choose deputies of the State Duma, at the same time in 39 subjects will be elected elections of legislative assemblies, and in nine regions – direct elections of the heads of the regions.
