“Taliban” (banned in the Russian Federation) will allow girls to go to school again after a safe environment will be created for this. Such a condition in an interview with the German publication Spiegel called the Taliban representative Zabilella Mujahid.
He said that the Taliban as a whole is not against the resumption of school classes for girls, but first wants to securely transport and safe environment for schoolgirls. “With the previous government, this was not,” said Mujahid. The representative of Taliban also recalled that women were already allowed to continue their studies at universities, noting that the transport there was “sufficiently safe.”
Mujahid could not answer the question about what exactly the Taliban is implied by the Wednesday safe for girls, stating that a special committee from theologians and lawyers will be created to solve this issue. According to the results of their work, they will present a detailed report on the safety of women in the educational and labor sphere.
On September 17, the Government of the Taliban announced that from September 18, boys would be able to start visiting private and religious schools of Afghanistan. At the same time, the Ministry of Education of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan did not report whether girls will be admitted to classes.
Earlier, the Taliban allowed women to study at universities, but obliged them to wear Islamic clothes and trained in individual groups for the “Protection of National and Historical Values”.
