US President Joe Biden instructed his Special Representative on Climate John Kerry to hold a ministerial meeting with Russia, reports the White House.
In addition to Russian Ministers, Kerry must meet with representatives of India, China and Germany. The meeting is planned to discuss the reduction of methane emissions into the atmosphere. It must pass in the near future.
The order was made after the online online Summit on the energy and climate, which was conducted by Joe Biden. He, in particular, called on it with Europe by 2030 to reduce methane emissions by 30 percent compared with the level of 2020.
Earlier, the official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not participate in the convened American leader’s meeting on energy and climate.
