Russian designers work on a supervalted sniper complex. The large-caliber sniper rifle will receive the cartridge of standardized NATO caliber. In 2022, the test of a new weapon will begin. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
The Chief Designer of the company ORSIS (enters the “Industrial Technology” group) Maxim Baymetov told in an interview with the agency that a promising rifle would be able to hit the targets to a distance of three kilometers. Weapons will receive a standardized NATO cartridge caliber of 12 to 99 millimeters.
Baymetov noted that the promising rifle was created for the export market, but Russian power structures are also interested in the project. The rifle will allow snipers to hit targets at large distances. “Today in Russia, no one produces combat weapons in Russia,” added the chief designer ORSIS.
Earlier in Russia presented a robotic complex “Pine-N”, designed to combat snipers. Laser-optical installation can scan the surrounding space, detecting optical instruments. To counteract the Snipers of the enemy, the device is able to direct a laser beam.
