Pro-Russian ruling party lost to elections in Argentina

The pro-Russian ruling party of Argentina “Universal Front” lost primary elections. This is reported by TASS with reference to local media.

According to the agency, the pro-government alliance received most only in six provinces of 23 and scored about 31 percent of the votes across the country. After the elections, Vice-President of Argentina Christina Fernandez de Kirschner criticized the leader of the state of Alberto Fernandez for his political course, which led to a decrease in population support, transfers the La Nacion edition. “I said that the budget reducing policy of budget expenditures is erroneous and negatively affects the economy and, therefore, on the whole society, and that this, no doubt, will affect the results of the elections,” she stressed.

La Nacion writes that after the defeat of the “universal front”, five chapters of the Argentine ministries, which are considered to be the allies of Kirchner, resigned. In particular, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Eduardo de Pedro, Minister of Science and Technologies Roberto Salvress, Minister of Justice Martin Soria, Minister of Culture Tristan Bauer and Environment Minister Juan Cabandier. It is noted that the president at the moment did not accept the resignation of officials.

On November 14, parliamentary elections will be held in Argentina. If the results of the primaries are repeated, the ruling party may lose the relative majority in the deputies’ chamber and the absolute – in the Senate. The current president of the country Fernandez is in good relations with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
