Great Britain will send hundreds of millions of pounds to the megaproekt to support companies working in the field of renewable energy, reported on the website of the country’s government. We are talking about the next, record-level in terms of volume, the round of the so-called scheme of “Contracts for the difference”, Contracts for Difference (CFD).
According to the Minister of Energy of Britain Ann-Marie Treveralyan, the decision to allocate money should support the country’s change plans to combat climate change necessary for the rescue of the planet. The CFD scheme allows you to protect the sector from fluctuations in electricity prices on the wholesale market. It is assumed that the state through a special company LOW CARBON CONTRACTS COMPANY (LCCC) concludes a contract with selected projects, negotiating a certain price for electricity for 15 years. As a result, emphasizes the government, consumers also do not have to pay more in cases where electricity prices are high.
Now the fourth round of the scheme has been launched: companies will compete for contracts on which 265 million pounds stand out (366 million dollars) per year. 200 million will go to projects that receive energy due to the coastal wind. It is assumed that funding will ensure such power production capacity, which will be able to provide eight million homes at the expense of it.
Alternative energy now seek to develop the largest countries of the world. For example, the United States plan to significantly increase the construction of solar power plants, and China hopes to achieve zero emissions by 2060, including at the expense of hydro-accumulating power plants.
