In United States rated possibilities of grouping “al-Qaida”

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken During the speech at the hearings in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Representatives of the US Congress, said that the intelligence community of the United States estimated the current position of the Al-Qaida terrorist group (prohibited in Russia). According to him, at present, the organization has greatly degraded, RIA Novosti reports.

“The current assessment assessment (USA) is that many years ago the possibilities of Al-Qaida were so much degraded that now she is not able to perform attacks abroad,” the head of the diplomatic department explained.

Blinken clarified that the United States complies with marginal vigilance and observe the possible restoration of the potential of terrorists and their ability to strike outside Afghanistan. He concluded that Washington intends to continue to coordinate efforts with their partners on this issue.

Earlier, the Secretary of State stated the absence of a threat to other countries from the side of the Taliban (the organization is prohibited in Russia) of American weapons. He also said that Washington lost a number of opportunities to counter terrorists after the withdrawal of forces from Afghanistan, but it has ways to compensate it.
