TEPCO operator TEPCO of the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant in Japan, where in 2011 an accident occurred, detected damage to the Alps radioactive water purification filters, which is discharged from the NPP. This was announced by the NHK TV channel, RIA Novosti reports.
A large-scale check has begun after one of the filters failed last year, which prevents leakage from the system. It turned out that 24 of 25 also have breakdowns. The situation has already been two years ago, then the equipment was replaced, but the reason for problems could not be installed.
According to the television channel, TEPCO has not yet recorded cases of leakage of radioactive water, but the likelihood of what they were still excluded.
In April, Japan’s authorities were officially allowed to drain water into the ocean from Fukushima-1 nuclear power plants. The process of preparing for discharge into the ocean water will take about two years. On April 13, the Foreign Ministry of the People’s Republic of China expressed protest of Japan due to solutions to merge into the ocean with Fukushima-1 NPP, purified from most dangerous radioactive substances. The Chinese authorities wanted to discuss this issue with the international community and, possibly, take a number of countermeasures.
On March 11, 2011, the earthquake 9.1 earthquake 9.1 has occurred in the history of Japan, which caused tsunami. The disaster is the cause of the accident at Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant, where the cooling system of reactors has failed. This led to a violation of the tightness of the structures and the radioactive infection of the area. About 300 thousand inhabitants left the territory around the station.
