Money will guide the country’s development projects and the prevention of the humanitarian crisis. As Griffiths noted, the participants of the event in Geneva demonstrated great generosity, the results of the conference look encouraging. He added that the funds collected will allow to help Afghans in one of the most difficult periods.
UN Secretary-General Antoniou Guterrish on Monday, September 13, announced a shipment to Afghanistan $ 20 million through the Central Emergency Response Fund. An international organization wants to collect another 606 million dollars for Afghans in the next four months.
It became known that China’s authorities will provide Afghanistan for $ 31 million, as well as three million doses of vaccines from COVID-19. Russia thought about the supply of humanitarian goods to the country.
Earlier, Guterrish said that the humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan takes a threatening scale. To date, almost half of the entire population of Afghanistan is needed – this is 18 million people. The situation in the country has complicated after the Taliban coming to power (the Taliban movement is recognized as terrorist and prohibited in Russia).
