Sudan denied reports on request of economic assistance from Russia

Khartoum does not ask Moscow about economic assistance in exchange for an agreement on the base of the navy (Navy). This was stated by the temporary attorney in the affairs of Sudan in Russia ONUR Ahmad ONUR, RIA Novosti reports.

Diplomat denied news about the request for help and called them non-profitable. He noted that the decision on the placement of the base was taken at the level of the heads of the Ministry of Defense of the two countries, and there was a mutual understanding on this issue.

Onour said that there was a good interaction between Russia and Sudan in such areas as politics, economics and culture, as well as in the military sphere. “Our relationship began a long time ago, so I would ask any payments that would simply be bad for a relationship,” he concluded. The diplomat was hoping for a quick signing of an agreement with Moscow after preparing its final option.

Earlier it was reported that the authorities of Sudan agreed to place on their territory the base of the Navy (Navy) of Russia in exchange for a package of economic assistance. According to the source, Khartoum expects that Moscow will provide assistance within five years of operation of the facility. At the same time, he noted that Russia has not yet answered this offer.
