French fashion house Balenciaga was accused of insulting the whole race because of the unusual design of the new thing. It is reported by Daily Mail.
We are talking about TROMPE-L’Oeil sports pants worth 86 thousand rubles. The thing is framed on the belt reminiscent of underwear: it is noted that such a detail on clothes creates the illusion of a sacred pants who worn blacks of the US Hip-Hop community in the 1990s.
American professor Markuit Gammej stressed that such fashionable reception is often used in art to criminalize black people, especially men. “Usually in such clothes show thugs and criminals that are a threat to American society,” she explained.
For this reason, the scientist accused a luxury brand in cultural apronation (the concept according to which the borrowing or the use of elements of one culture by members of another is a negative phenomenon). She considered that with the help of provocation, the design designers tries to get the most profit from sales.
In response to the claims of Gammej, Balenciaga Marketing Director, Ponte explained that the brand collections are often presented with clothes made from different wardrobe items. As an example, she led jeans combined with sports pants. According to her, Trompe-L’Oeil pants are similarly part of the brand concept.
