In the new textbook on the history of Belarus, information was excluded about the former chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Stanislav Shushkevich, who in 1991 signed Belovezhsky agreements and later became the first leader of the independent Belarus. The reasons were told by Shushkevich himself on the radio station “says Moscow.”
According to him, the solution of the operating authorities is not surprising in the light of the events of August 2020 after the next victory in the election of Alexander Lukashenko.
“The formation of our leader [Lukashenko] is such that he is important for everyone to believe that he speaks only the truth. He serve. The security officials are managed by our state,” Shushkevich emphasized.
The politician added that the Belarusian leader purposefully destroys information about all opposition-minded citizens, as it does not tolerate critics and seeks to keep the place of the president in every way. Shushkevich noted that the strikeout of his name from the book did not hurt him.
