Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Puzzchenko said that Minsk is considering the possibility of acquiring or creating its own cargo fleet in order to minimize costs for the carriage of goods. Golzhekko noted that the Government of Belarus also analyze the prospects for creating a marine terminal. According to him, from an economic point of view, its location on the territory of the Russian Leningrad region would be the most effective. The prime minister stressed that in this direction a very serious work is underway.
Earlier, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced the beginning of the “Virtual Mission” to study the economic situation in Belarus. The check begins against the background of the country’s receipt of the Foundation for the Special Rights of Borrowing (SDR) in the amount of $ 923 million. As the representative of the organization explained, the work is aimed at collecting additional information about the economy of Belarus and the influence of the coronavirus pandemic.
