The height of the orbit of the International Space Station was adjusted as part of the preparation for the arrival of the transport piloted ship “Union of MS-19” and returning the Soyuz MS-18 ship to Earth. According to preliminary data, after the corrective maneuver, the height of the station orbits should increase by 750 m.
On Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 21:54 Moscow time a team was issued and engines of the service module “Star” of the Russian segment of the ISS were included. Two adjusting motors in normal mode worked 31 seconds, and the pulse value was 0.45 m / s. Currently, specialists of the Ballistic-navigation and navigation support center for TsNiyamash flights (Roscosmos State Corporation) are studying the obtained telemetric information, according to the results of which the exact parameters of the orbit of the International Space Station will be announced.
This maneuvera was conducted by the engines of the “Star” service module, and not the transport freight ship “Progress MS-17” in order to more efficient fuel use, since the cosmic “truck” docked to the Small Research Module “Search”.
At the moment, seven crew members are on board the international space station: Oleg Novitsky astronauts and Peter Dubrov, NASA Astronauts Mark Wanda Hai, Shane Kimbrow and Megan Makurtur, Astronaut of the European Space Agency Space Agency, as well as Akikhidoe Akikhiko astronaut. A cosmonaut of Roscosmos Anton Slipples, as well as participants in the space flight – Actress Julia Peresildo and Director Klim Shipenko, should fly on the ship “Union MS-19”.
Start of the Soyuz-2.1a carrier missile with a transport piloted ship “Union MS-19” is scheduled for October 5, 2021 from the Baikonur cosmodrome. It is expected that on October 17, Peresilde and Shipenko will return to Earth on the ship “Union MS-18” along with the astronaut Roscosmos Oleg Novitsky.
