Russia and Belarus agreed to cancel roaming on the territory of the Union State. The relevant decision was made on the basis of the meeting of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, reports on Friday, September 10, TASS.
On April 8, the Ambassador of Belarus in Russia Vladimir Semashko called the final date of the abolition of mobile roaming between the two countries – January 1, 2022. He added that the previously launched experimental operation of the systems showed the ability of two countries to resolve all technical difficulties, organizational problems and debugging software products related to the cancellation of roaming.
before that it was reported that Belarus and Russia could not complete the work on resetting the maintenance roaming between the two countries due to technical and financial problems. The parties signed a roadmap on the cancellation of roaming in the Union State at the end of 2019. It was planned that the changes would take effect no later than December 2020.
Roaming will be considered canceled when an incoming call will officially cost 0 rubles.
