The “Taliban” radical movement (recognized by terrorist and prohibited in Russia) announced the “constructive role” of Uzbekistan in the “peace process” in Afghanistan. This was announced by the official representative of the Uzbek Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Foreign Ministry), Yusup Kabulzhanov wrote in his Telegram channel.
According to him, evidence of this is the congratulation of the press secretary of the Taliban Mohammad Subeha Shakhin in connection with the 30th anniversary of the independence of Uzbekistan.
It says about the interest of the Taliban “in the continuation of the implementation of infrastructure projects in Afghanistan with the participation of Uzbekistan”, in particular, the construction of the railway and power lines. At the same time, Shahin promised that the current Afghan leadership will support Uzbek partners in their endeavors.
Earlier, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzieev said that there is an agreement on non-aggression between Tashkent and Taliban. He also spoke about attempts to establish contact with militants, “When no country has contacted them,” and readiness for the sake of “peace and tranquility” to conduct a dialogue with any groupings.
On August 15, the Taliban militants announced that they took control of the whole territory of Afghanistan. In addition, the radicals reported that in the near future will announce the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
