Armed men kidnapped more than 100 children and several teachers from school in the state of Zamfar in the North-West of Nigeria. This is reported by TASS with reference to the local BluePrint edition.
According to eyewitnesses, the criminals attacked the educational institution during classes. It is noted that the governor of the state of Zamfara Bello Matallian ordered to temporarily close all the primary and secondary schools in the region. In 13 regions of the state introduced a curfew and restrictions on movement at night.
In Nigeria, there are regular cases of kidnapping by militants in order to obtain a ransom. So, in early July, the group of armed people attacked the boarding school in the Nigeria State of Kaduna located in the north-west. The attackers kidnapped 140 students. Prior to that, 200 minors in the city of Tegin, Niger reported on the abduction of 200 juveniles. Since the beginning of the year, more than 1000 children were abducted.
