British intelligence held talks with Taliban

High-ranking representatives of the British intelligence service MI-6 held talks with representatives of the Taliban terrorist movement (prohibited in the Russian Federation). This is reported to the Telegraph with reference to the sources.

It is noted that in this way the authorities of the United Kingdom wanted to ensure that Afghanistan will not be used for terrorist attacks to the West. According to the newspaper, negotiations with the Taliban passed throughout two weeks: as a rule, the British were engaged in them in the UK embassy in Kabul. In addition, bilateral contacts were carried out in the capital of Qatar Doha.

According to the source of The Telegraph, the British special services fear that the Taliban will use Afghanistan as a “base” to cover the terrorists planning the west attacks. “This is what we are afraid of the most,” the source said.
