The United Nations (UN) expressed gratitude to Rosaviatsiya and the Russian Airlines of Utair for help in evacuation from the capital of Afghanistan. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the federal air transport agency.
According to the agency, the UN Deputy Secretary-General Atul Khara thanked Russia for assisting in the export of employees of the organization from Kabul.
On August 18, UTAIR airlines sent a plane to the Afghan capital to export UN staff. The evacuation flight has sent representatives of the organization from Kabul to Alma-Ata. On August 22, another export flight on Al-Ata route – Kabul – Alma-Ata took place.
Earlier it was reported that Moscow was disappointed with the progress of the UN Security Council for the adoption of resolution on Afghanistan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia stated that during the US voting, the United Kingdom and France created Zeitnote when coordinating documents. Because of this, Moscow, together with Beijing, were forced to refrain from voting.
