Ust-Katavi Carriage Plant (VHFs, enters the state corporation “Roskosmos”) and Sinara-Transport vehicles (STM, enters the Sinar group) put the first batch of ten trams for the city of Chelyabinsk. In a solemn event, held on August 30, 2021, the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Aleksey Texler, CEO of the CEO Roman Novikov and General Director of STM Viktor Leschi participated in the launch of trams on regular urban routes. Eight trams went through urban routes. Two more cars will begin to transport passengers in the near future.
The event was held in the Chelyabinsk tram depot No. 1. The delegation participants examined the repaired workshop of planned repairs, as well as the exterior and interior of the new tram car. During the visit to the plant, Alexey Texler talked with EMD employees who were directly involved in the assembly of new cars and their integrated training. The governor also presented a report on the current stage of work on the production of remaining tram cars for the city and to prepare them for operation. The completion of the official program was the fare of a delegation on a new tram on the ring urban route.
Sinara – Transport Machines company won an open competition for the supply of 30 partially low-voltage trams in the capital of the Southern Urals in April 2021. The ICEDP is a contract partner of STM for the production of tram wagons. According to the terms of the contract, all cars will be transferred to Chelyabinsk until the end of this year: the final batch consisting of 20 units will be delivered to the city to December. Completion of new tram wagons includes special places for low passengers, air conditioning system with climate control function, LED running line in the cabin, availability of equipment for wireless Internet access using Wi-Fi technology, USB connectors to recharging mobile devices, Passenger traffic sensors, video surveillance system in the cabin, various elements of anti-vandal protection of the interior of the car, as well as other options that meet all modern requirements.
Partial seized and preparing new trams to operation will be carried out at the production site of the Chelyabinsk tram depot No. 1 under the guidance of technical specialists of STM and IVDS.
