in Novosibirsk began to build a source of synchrotron radiation “Siberian ring source photons” (Scyth). A unique accelerator of particles created in the Science of Koltsovo will allow physicists and scientists from other science areas to conduct research using X-rays. This is reported by TASS.
It is noted that synchrotron will be built by the efforts of exclusively Russian scientists. This installation is an accelerator inside which the particles move in a circle at a speed of light, accelerating with powerful electromagnets. The creation of Synchrotron is scheduled to be completed by 2023, and scientific research will begin in 2024. The cost of construction of the scientific installation is estimated at 37.1 billion rubles.
Scyth will accommodate experimental stations, while the first station will be completed until the end of 2023. All planned to build eight stations, two of which will belong to the Novosibirsk Center for Virology “Vector”. Manufacturer of equipment for synchrophasotron is the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
