Poland stopped the evacuation of citizens from Kabul airport by air for security reasons. It reports Al Jazeera.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Marcin Pshidach stated that the decision to terminate the evacuation was taken after consultations with officials of the United States and the UK. “After a long analysis of reports on security situation, we can no longer risk the lives of our diplomats and our soldiers,” he stressed.
According to the deputy head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, the two last evacuation flights of Poland flew out of the capital of Afghanistan – to Uzbekistan and Warsaw. Pshidach noted that part of the military contingent will remain in Kabul to complete a number of organizational tasks.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister of the United Kingdom said that London was ready to continue to export his citizens up to the end of Deadline evacuation from Kabul. “Military who are engaged in evacuation are waiting for us until we are upright all the details,” the diplomat explained. The United States and other NATO countries must complete the evacuation of all their citizens located in Afghanistan, until August 31.
