Concern “Uralvagonzavod” (UVZ, is part of the state corporation “Rostech”) plans to modernize T-80BV tanks. The car will increase the main characteristics, including fireproof, and mobility, – reports TASS with reference to the press service of UVZ.
in a message published during the International Military Technical Forum “Army-2021”, refers to the directions of modernization of the tank. UVS plans to increase the parameters of mobility, security, and command handling T-80BVM.
T-80BVM tank is the modernization of the Soviet T-80BV. The development of OJSC “Omsktransmash” (included in the UVZ) was first demonstrated on the Army 2020 forum. The car received an improved gas turbine engine of GTD-1250 with a capacity of 1250 horsepower, a new gunner, and a modified charging mechanism, allowing to use leaders “Lead” and “Lead-2”.
Machine protection increased by the new dynamic protection of “Relic”, and a set of lattice screens. The tank can additionally be equipped with a complex of active protection “Arena-M”. Team handling T-80BVM increased by installing a digital radio communication complex “Aqueduct”.
