Japan’s authorities program for the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles and installation across the country charging devices has become a waste of money. Most of them turned out to be unclaimed and have already begun to obstruct, Bloomberg writes
The Government of Japan in 2012 allocated $ 911 million to the construction of “refills” for electrocars, but there were almost no cars on electric motors – they account for about one percent of cars in Japan. At the same time, many charging stations are outdated (recharging connectors are not suitable for current models) or fail – the average service life is about eight years. According to analysts from Zenrin Co, in 2020, the number of good charging stations in Japan fell from 30.3 thousand to 29.2 thousand.
Planning Manager from E-Mobility Power Tsuiusi Ito predicted that at 2022 and 2023, the peak of replacing the old paragraphs for electrocarbers will have to replace. He noted that it is important to place them at convenient and accessible places, as well as guarantee a long service life – it will contribute to an increase in the number of electric vehicles on the roads.
The authorities of Japan are planning to establish even more charging stations – by 2030, they should be about 150 thousand throughout the country. National companies will make their contribution – for example, Tepco by 2025 wants to supply 1000 points highways for quick charging, and Hitachi develops more compact and light chargers. However, the head of the Akio Toyoda automakers Akio Akio Akio Aquita warned, one chase on the number of stations is not enough. He is afraid that, if you do not increase the production of electrocars, they will continue to stand idle.
Russia does not have such ambitious plans for installing charging stations. The government presented the concept of transition to electric vehicles, under which, by 2030, 81.4 thousand items for recharging will be in the country. In addition, by 2024, the country plans to release at least 25 thousand electrocars.
