Lavrov declared a deplorable state of relations between Russia and European Union

At the moment, relations between Russia and the European Union are in a deplorable state. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, RIA Novosti reports.

The Foreign Minister noted that the contacts of the Russian side with Brussels decreased to a minimum due to the policy of EU leaders aimed at restraving Moscow. “For our part, we have expressed the readiness to develop a pragmatic dialogue and with the European Union, and with its members solely in an equal mutual intention and look for an agreement in those areas that meet mutual interests,” he stressed.

August 23 Lavrov said that the EU’s economic sanctions make serious damage to the young Europe countries. He noted that since 2014, when economic restrictions against Moscow were introduced, trade between Russia and European countries has decreased significantly. The diplomat called the sanctions with a non-politics tool. According to him, in relation to Moscow, similar measures are unpromising.
