According to the head of the German government, Berlin did not have time to develop appropriate measures to prepare for the accelerated evacuation of its citizens and the conclusion of troops from Kabul. As a result, the decision on the urgent export of the Germans and Afghans, who collaborated with the German army, was taken without approval by the Parliament, bypassing the official procedure.
Earlier, Merkel asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss humanitarian assistance with the Taliban to the population of Afghanistan by the UN. She also recognized that the capture of Afghanistan by militants is a “upsetting fact.” In addition, Merkel assured that Germany will take out of Afghanistan as many Afghans as possible, who collaborated with it for a 20-year-old NATO campaign.
On August 15, the Taliban took Kabul and announced the full control over the territory of Afghanistan. President Ashraf Ghani folded off the authority and fled to the UAE. Now Taliban forms a new government, which has already entered the ex-president of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai.
