Taliban went to Panger to negotiate with rebels

Representatives of the “Taliban” radical movement (prohibited in Russia) went to negotiations with the rebels in the Afghan province of Panjscher. It is reported by the source RIA Novosti.

The Taliban delegation should meet with the leader of the local resistance to Akhmad Masuda Jr., the son of a popular field commander killed in 2001. According to the agency’s interlocutor, it is expected that, as a result of the negotiations, Panjscher will surrender without a fight.

Panjscher Province has become the center of resistance to the “Taliban” authority on August 17. Then in the hard-to-reach region, controlled by the detachments of Ahmad Masuda Jr., the son of a popular field commander, killed in 2001, arrived former vice-president of Afghanistan Amplla Saleh. He stated that he was acting president of the country. The rebels joined the military from among government troops.
