The Belarusian authorities estimated the likelihood of the refugee flow from Afghanistan, transfers Interfax – West.
“Moving forced migrants from Afghanistan to Belarus should not gain a massive character. This is due to the remoteness of our republic from the region of Central Asia, as well as through the conduct of the relevant visa policy,” said Alexey Runner by the Department of Citizenship and Migration Department.
According to him, the applicants of the Afghans on the asylum will be considered within the framework of the procedure provided for by the law. “Currently, there are no any restrictions on the entry for the citizens of Afghanistan to the territory of Belarus,” he said.
Earlier, the Programmit Committee of the Republic stated that Polish security forces tried to displace the Belarusian territory of Afghan refugees to the Belarusian territory.
In recent months, the number of migrants from the Middle East has sharply increased, which are trying to get from Belarus to Lithuania, Latvia and Poland. In the European Union, it is argued that Minsk uses refugees as a weapon for “hybrid attacks” to the West. The migration crisis broke out after the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, against the background of the next exacerbation of relations with the EU, threatened to weaken control abroad.
