CSTO will hold military exercises in Kyrgyzstan

The organization of the collective security agreement (CSTO) will hold military exercises in Kyrgyzstan in September. This was reported in the press center of the block, transfers 24.kg.

The teachings of the collective forces of rapid deployment of the CSTO called “Rubezh-2021” will be held on September 1-9 at the Edelweiss Polygon. Military Central Military District began to relocate in Kyrgyzstan.

Earlier, the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav stated that Tajikistan would receive the necessary assistance from the organization member countries in case the situation in Afghanistan continues to deteriorate. According to him, at the moment the Afghan-Tajik border is securely protected, but if necessary, additional mechanisms can be involved.

At the same time, in the CSTO, it is assumed that the foci of resistance to representatives of the “Taliban” radical movement (prohibited in Russia) who seized power in Afghanistan can lead to a long-term civil war in the country with difficult consequences.

Taliban began an offensive in Afghanistan against the background of the withdrawal of American troops. On August 15, the militants announced that they set control over the entire territory of the country.
