Robot has created a robot to fight snipers

In Russia, they created a robotic complex to detect and combat snipers. The robot “Pine-N” was developed by the specialists of the NII “Polyus” named after M. F. Stelmach (enters the Holding “Schwab” State Corporation “Rostech”). The premiere of the complex was held in the framework of the International Military Technical Forum “Army 2021”, TASS reports.

The complex is a laser-optical installation with remote control, which can operate automatically. “Pine-N” is capable of scanning the surrounding space at any time of the day, detecting optical devices sent to the protected sector. The robot can determine the observation and aiming of the optical devices of sniper rifles, binoculars and sighting devices of anti-tank missile systems.

When a threat is detected, the system marks the location of the enemy instrument and gives an alarm. Also “Pine-H” can interfere with enemy optics by means of a directed laser beam.

“The device can be used both to ensure safety and to protect privacy,” the chief designer of the complex Mikhail Rozin stressed. “The device is capable of fixing an unauthorized video, issuing the location of the attacker,” he added.

Pine-N complex is able to find a threat at a distance of up to three kilometers, and the suppression of the enemy instruments is possible at a distance of up to two kilometers. Mass of a robotic complex – 4.6 kilograms. In this case, the operator is enough to carry a tablet of a mass of a 1.1 kilogram. “The advantage of the system is a relatively low cost,” the rouzin summed up.
