“Big Seven” will consider recognition of Taliban in Afghanistan

The participants of the Great Seven Summit (G7) will soon consider the recognition of the representatives of the Taliban movement (“prohibited in the Russian Federation”) as legal leaders of Afghanistan. It is reported by CNN with reference to own sources.

According to the interlocutors, a similar solution “Big Seven” can entail serious consequences and become a “political lever” for the Taliban.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes that the Taliban requires a single approach developed by the G7 countries. In this regard, he proposed to draw up a plan for recognizing the new Afghan government or consider the possibility of introducing economic sanctions.

Currently, no country of “big seven” has not recognized the legitimacy of the Taliban as a government in Afghanistan. At the same time, the approval of the European Union will allow the movement to seek help to representatives of G7.

previously became known that the leaders of the G7 countries planned an emergency meeting in video conferencing because of the events occurring in Afghanistan. Such a statement made the White House after the telephone conversation of US President Joe Bayiden with the Prime Minister of Great Britain.

In Afghanistan, the situation was glowed after the Taliban was in the capital. At the moment, the country’s management is provided to the Time Council, which later will give the power of the Taliban. The composition of the new Council included the head of the Supreme Council on Natspirming Abdullah Abdullah and the former President Hamid Karzai. The current president of the country Ashraf Ghani fled from the country to Uzbekistan.
