Preparation of “Union-2.1b” missile began under launch of module “Pier”

On the Baikonur cosmodrome, the “Soyuz-2.1b” launch vehicle was completed, which delivers the transport cargo ship “Progress M-mind” to the orbit with a nodal module “Pier” for the International Space Station.

Earlier, echelon with the blocks of a carrier rocket with access roads was filed in the installation and test case of the site No. 112, after which the South Space Center specialists (branch of the center of exploitation of land-based space infrastructure) and the branch of the Progress Rocket and Space Center (Participated by Roskosmos State Corporation) was made of their unloading and movement to the workplace. The next step of preparation for the start-up – transportation of the Blocks of the Soyuz-2.1b missile blocks on the technical complex of the installation and test case No. 31.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1B carrier missile with the Progress M-mind transport cargo ship and the nodal module “Pier” is planned in November 2021. The universal knotting module “Pier” is intended to expand the technical and operational capabilities of the Russian segment of the International Space Station.
