The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharov said that NATO is a “destructive” structure. This was announced in his Telegram-channel.
According to the diplomat, the military-political unit should not be applied to the “place in providing international security”. “Alliance lost orientation in space and control even over himself,” she emphasized.
Zakharov also advised NATO “to update the theoretical base and a practical approach”, but only then engage in “salvation of the universe.”
On August 20, the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Military Political Block would not allow international terrorism to threaten an alliance from the territory of Afghanistan. He stressed that while the Alliance was in the country, “no terrorist attacks” was not conducted from its territory. “These achievements need to be preserved,” concluded the Secretary General.
Previously, NATO refused to help resistance to Panjscher province. Former Vice-President of Afghanistan Amrulla Saleh, who announced himself with the acting president of the country, received a categorical refusal to hit the Taliban columns (the terrorist movement is prohibited in Russia).
