Russian region with highest level of poverty

The greatest level of poverty in Russia is recorded in Tuva, Ingushetia and Kabardino-Balkaria. Such regions called Mintrost, reports TASS with reference to the Department of Information Technologies Department Andrei Lebedev.

At the end of last year, Russia had 17.8 million people with income below the subsistence minimum, which was 12.1 percent. In Tuva, this indicator is 34.1 percent, in Ingushetia – 30 percent, in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic – 24.2 percent.

Earlier, a candidate of economic sciences, a leading researcher at the Institute of Social Analysis and Forecasting (Insap), Ranjigs Elena Grishin stated that more than 80 percent of the number of low-income households make up families with children. At the same time, the greatest risks of poverty in families with children up to three years, families with two or more children and incomplete families.

Also one of the most vulnerable groups are unemployed, since temporary measures of material support, such as surcharges on children, an increased minimum benefit amount, ceased.

Head of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship Sergey Zhigarev said earlier that Russians need to create new highly paid jobs in the regions.
