On the Forum “Army-2021” for the first time, BMP-3 will be shown with a combat module “Berezhok”. A new set of weapons is established as part of the modernization of BMP-3. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the High-precision Complex Complexes of the State Corporation “Rostech”.
The holding representatives noted that the modernization of BMP-3 implies the installation of new weapons systems. Designers plan to install new combat modules, the mass and dimensions of which will save the dynamics and buoyancy of the BMP-3 chassis.
Universal combat model “Berezhok” is designed for installation on light armored vehicles of Soviet and Russian production. The armament of the complex is represented by an automatic gun 2A42 and parsed with it of the PKT machine gun. Supplements their 30-mm grenade launcher AG-17 and four launchers of anti-tank missiles “Cornet”.
The combat module has received a modern fire management system. So, the sights of the gunner and the commander received thermal imaging channels, and the instructor’s instrument is additionally equipped with a laser rangefinder. This allows you to effectively fire with sushi and water surface at any time of the day. From 2020, the modernization of BMP-2 began to modernize the Russian army with the replacement of the standard tower by the combat module “Berezhok”.
