Tajikistan will receive the necessary assistance from the Members of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the event that the situation in Afghanistan continues to deteriorate. According to him, at present, the Afghan-Tajik border is protected reliably, however, in case of a deterioration in the situation, the block involves additional mechanisms on this. “Our task is to prevent the situation that will cause our need to deploy strength and join combat clashes,” said.
Secretary General recalled that the priority of the organization is the resolution of conflicts diplomatic. At the same time, he stressed that the CSTO is already developing an interstate program of assistance to Tajikistan with appliances and weapons. It will begin to enter the republic in the near future.
Previously, Professor HSE and the chief scientific officer of the Institute of International Studies of MGIMO Andrei Kazantsev revealed the danger of the influx of Afghan refugees in Central Asia for Russia. He assured that migrants can provoke an economic and political destabilization in the region, which is why tens of thousands of local residents will go to the north.
“Russia already has such an experience – a wave of refugees after the fall of the regime (former President of Afghanistan) Mohammad Najibulla and Tajikov, saving from the Civil War,” Kazantsev said.
