Kalashnikov Group of Companies will set for the needs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, the new pistol Lebedeva Compact (PLC). The novelty will replace Makarov’s pistols (PM) used by the police. It is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service “Kalashnikov”.
Details of the Agreement are not yet named. Now the pilot operation of the PLC is completed in the Ministry of the Interior. “Kalashnikov” and the Ministry of Internal Affairs are preparing for the conclusion of the contract, “the company noted. It is also unknown, what amount of PLC will order the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Now the power structures of Russia are listed about a hundred thousand PM. “Kalashnikov” reports that the military also became interested in the novelty, but talk about concrete agreements early.
Lebedev’s gun was developed by the Kalashnikov group of designers in an initiative order. Work on the potential replacement of PM began in 2014, and on the “Army-2015” forum presented the first model – PL-14. The difference between the pistol from the predecessors is worked out ergonomics, and the balance, calculated, taking into account the biomechanics of a person. This allows you to make a return after the shot comfortable, providing a quick return to the aiming line.
PLC is a shortened version of the basic model. The length of the compact pistol is 180 millimeters, and the mass without a store is 710 grams. PLC got a shortened store for 14 ammunition.
